hit diyphotography.com a3 white cardboard makes a great reflector or 2 or 3 coloured cellophane is great for gelling flashes, for a few bucks you could get a no name flash unit and a trigger and reciever set, this will out you in the off camera flash world.............hit me up if you need more details, im not much of a fan of lens attachments, i am a fan of putting crazy things infrount of the lens and shooting thru them, this was made using a eye glasses lens from a $2 shop, it is flies in spider web: looking for translucent things, like the olive oil bottle, the dishwashing liquid, these can be fun to shoot thru or fire a flash thru, with a desk lamp or bed side lamp and some olive oil and a cd some nice images can be made, in this game i have found one doesnt need money they need creativity, so many people will spend on stuff thats a waste of time and money and ignore the things that will actually take them to another level, hope there is something there for you,
Some of the first things I bought with my first DSLR: - a UV filter - polarizing filter - Camera bag - Tripod - Hand strap - Lens hood (if it didnt come with one) - A light reflector ( a piece of white cardboard would do) - Cokin filter holders and Cokin Neutral density filters In the category of DIY photo stuff, my number one creation was a macro photo studio that I in terms of lens adapters, do you mean the ones that say, let you put a Canon lens on a nikon camera?? If so, these are useless unless you happen to have several thousand dollars worth of Nikkor lenses that you want to use on your pentax. If you are looking for lenses try Sigma, they make some great lenses for pentax :) Most of the stuff you need to buy, is all based on protecting your camera, a UV filter, bag and tripod are a must even if you do not buy anything else.
