Modern Family Review: A Modern Day Normal Rockwell

Last week's Modern Family was a lot about feeling the love at "The Happiest Place on Earth", otherwise known as Disneyland. While Disneyland is a place where people go to escape real life, the Pritchitt-Dunphy crew was brought back down to earth on

Jim Mitchell, a life of service, love of town and family

His first great-grandchild is due any day. He also left behind a town that he loved and hundreds of people who admired and adored him. (See photos and quotes on page 6.) “He lived for the town and his family,” his wife Nancy said.

Ok so i got a camera for christmas and i wanted to install in onto the computer.. the thing is our family computer sucks. So i installed it on my sister's laptop. I use her laptop whenever she comes home from college and it very tedious. i have to use her laptop when i want to put music on my ipod, when i have a project or whenever i want to look something up. It's frustrating to me because i'm tired of relying on people for the smallest things (although im only 15)... so im looking for a laptop with great memory, great battery lifetime, nothing wrong with it... you know... the works.. im looking for one in charlotte NC between 200- 400 dollars. If anyone can help me out please do so... im trying to grow up and be less dependent... thanks!!

So.... you don't want to look at the computer listings that Craigslist has to offer for your area? Why and what do I see... hmmmm. I see more than 6 computers listed TODAY for sale less than $400, including a Mac. So, is it just that you don't want to actually look, and you want someone to just drop a deal in your lap? Have you called all the local computer repair shops to see if any have an inexpensive laptop for you to buy? Have you? Have you called ONE place? Have you even been to the Best Buy near you, where you can buy more than a half-dozen BRAND NEW warrantied laptops for $400 or under? Did you even look? Walmart has Netbooks listed from under $300..and a $428 Toshiba, again brand new... first step to trying to grow up and be less dependent, is actually TRYING to be less dependent... so rather than just shifting your dependence from them to us in this community, why not actually depend on yourself, and use the facilities available to you. Call places near you. Use the Yellow Pages. Look at the websites for stores near you (like I have linked you to)... stop TALKING about being more independent, and start BEING more independent. end of line

You have given a budget that doesn't allow for much. You can get a laptop or even a netbook for $400, but if you want a laptop, you might find that in a year or two, it just doesn't have the horsepower to do what you want. If you are ok with a small netbook (10 inch screens, NO DVD/CD drive, smaller processor) you can easily find one. Those are typically made for folks who just want to check their email and do some typing while they are on the road. They typically have Windows XP because they don't have the hardware that can run Vista. If you know you want a laptop (a larger screen--15 inches, plus a dvd drive), you can get one but keep in mind that it very well might feel very slow in a couple of years. Can you clarify which of the two you want? Either in the details section of this question, or email me and I can get you some links. I don't know the Charlotte area in particular, but I can get you links to best buy, walmart, or another electronics store in your area--staples, office max, office depot, whatever.
